ART DEALER CHARGED

ALLEGED SOCIETY BOOTLEGGER. NEW YORK, Oct, 1. In arresting Harry Findley, a dealer in art of the fashionable Fifthavenue, New York, the Federal police allege they have run to earth the “most exclusive and highest-toned bootlegger in the business.” Many of his customers will be asked ■to testify before the grand jury. They include, it is asserted, society men and women, lawyers, bankers and prominent business men. These customers never called at the art shop, but always ordered the liquor to be delivered to the house. Price lists of all the liquors on thei market were found. One circular, commenting upon a special brand of gin, said: “Our gill has always been a favorite and is preferred by gentlemen, even to blondes.” Another circular described how to prepare and serve such beverages as cobblers, daises, egg-nogs, flips, fizzes, juleps and cocktails. Foully was released on £2OO bail.
