SMALLER ENTRIES AT ADDINGTON, LITTLE CHANGE IN PRICES. (Per Prhes Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Smaller entries were the rule at Addington to-day, but values were not affected much. Fat cattle sold decidedly cheaper, fat sheep were about the same as last week, whilst fat lambs averaged if anything it shade higher. Store Sheep.—There was a small entry of mediocre quality, good class hoggets making good prices, but cull wethers were several shillings lower. Lambs and ewes dragged. 'Good tlircequarterbred cwo hoggets made 38s 3d; small halfbred ewe hoggets 30s to 31s 9d; aged woolly ewes and lambs 13s 9d ; sound mouthed inferior owes and lambs 15s 3d; 6 and 8 tji shorn ewes ‘32s 6d; 6 and Blli shorn wethers 23s Id to 245; good 4-tli shorn wethers 24s 3d ; three-quarter.-bred sound mouthed woolly wethers 31s 6d ; halfbred sound-mouthed woolly wethers 335; 4,6, and 8-th shorn wethers 16s 4d to 18s 6d; inferior slmm 4 and 6-tli wethers 16s to 19s lOd ; 2-tli iiulfbrcd wethers 17s 2d.

Spring Lambs. —There was another heavy entry of just on 900 head. The market was is 6d a head better over Ihe earlier stages, hut slacked later. Average values were to 9d per 11). Etxra prime heavy lambs made, 29s 6d to 32s 4d; prime lambs 27s to 30s; medium lambs 24s to 26s 6d; light Jambs 18s 6d to 235.

Fat Sheep. There was a smaller entry comprising 10 races, compared with recent- averages of 12 to 14. The market opened better than last week, but slipped hack and on the average was practically on all fours. Butchers generally are holding supplies of sheep, and the uncertainty of the freezing position is having a depressing effect. Extra prime wethers made to 32s 9d: prime wethers 27s 6d to 31s 6d; medium wethers 25s 6d to 27s 3d ; light wethers 21s 6d to 25s : extra prime ewes to 375; prime ewes 23s to 265; medium ewes 20s 6d to 22s 6d; light, ewes 18s to 20s; prime woolly wethers 34s 6d to 38s 4d; medium woolly wethers 32s to 345; prime woolly wethers 28s 6d to 33s 4d; medium woolly ewes 25s 6d to 28s.

Fat Cattle. —There was another heavy entry of 557, making a few short of an aggregate of 1800 for the past three sales. This excess has brought prices down, and to-day heavy bullocks were 30s lower than last week. Medium weight steer realised 25s and heifer 20s. best- beef from 35s to 37s 6d per 1001 b.; average from 34s to 365; extra heavy steers realised £l6 to £l7 12s 6d: prime heavy steers £l4 10s to £ls lcs; prime medium-weight steers £l3 to £ls; medium quality steers £lO £l2 15s; light steers £7 10s to £9 15s; extra prime heifers to £l2 7s 6d: prime heifers £lO 10s to £ll 15s: medium heiferp £7 to £10; light heifers £5 5s to £6 15s; extra heavy cows to £l2 7s 6d; prime cows £9 10s to £11: medium rows £6 15s to £9; light cows £4 10s to £6 ss.

Yealers. —There was a. smaller entry and a good sale. Good runners made to £7;' medium £5 15s to £6 10s; ordinary to good calves £4 to £5 10s; small 15s to 30s.

■Store Cattle. There was a fairly large entry, and a pood demand for forward steers and fresh young cows. Two and a-half fo three-year steers made £6 10s; fresh cows fo £5. Dairv Cattle. —There was a small entry and a- better sale. Best second to fourth calvers made £6 15s to £9 15s; extra good springing heifers £9 to £ll 'ss.

Fat Pio-s. — Medium entry. easier values. Choppers made £3 to £4 8s 6d ; baconers £3 12s to £5 Bs—average nrice per lb. 62d to 7RI; l'«dit porkers 46s to 555; heavy 60s to 70s—average prme per lb. 7jjd to B^d. Store Pips.—There was a brisk sale and a slight advance in values. Weaners made 17s to 28s;'extra good to 34s 6d; stores 35s to 48s ; large 50s to 565.

THE WESTFIELD SALE

BEEF PRICES LOWER AUCKLAND, lust night. At tho Westfield sale to-day there was a very largo yarding of beef. Although in odd eases last weeks values were sustained, as a whole the values were lower. Two P.A. show bullocks realised £l7. Cow and lieifer beef was easier, this being more noticeable as the sale progressed. Extra choice ox sold to 32s per 1001 b., choice and price-28s to 31s, just killable 25s to 275, prime young cow and heifer beef 28s, just killable 20s to 20s. Sheep.—There was a- very large yarding. Values eased considerably for all classes, ewes. suffering j,o the greatest extent. A consignment of extra prime shorn wethers topped the market, selling to 27s 3d, and extra heavy prime wethers (shorn) made L’7s 3d: heavy prime 245; medium 21s to 235; light, and unfinished 19s;. heavy prime ewes to £1; lighter Its to 10s. Lambs were penned m good numbers, there being little or no change in values. Heavy prime made to 24s 0d; medium 18s to 21s; light 14s to 17s.

. Calves.—There was an average yarding, prices being slightly easier. Runners made £3 10s .to £5;. heavy venters £2 Os' to £4 10s; medium £o to'£3 8s; light £2 12s to £2 10s; small £1 5s to £1 AOs; fresh dropped 4s to 12s. Pigs: There was a fair yarding, last week’s values being unchanged.
