Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report on the monthly stock sale held "on Thursday in the Opotiki saleyards. No sheep were entered, but there was a good yarding of cattle. Practically the'whole yard" ing was cleared under the hammer at prices on par with hist month's sale. We quote: Fat bulocks to £9, fat cows £7 to £7 15s, cows £1 to'£4, yearling heifers £2' to £5 10s, springing heifers, to £7, springing cows to £lO, light conditioned 3-yr stove bullocks £o 18s, 2-yr'steers £4, yearling steers £1 to £2 10s. The Bank of New Zealand have received the following cable from their London office: —"Wethers fallen off; market declined. Eyres poor demand. Lambs dull, downward! tendency. Beef depressed owing to heavy stocks of Argentine. Wethers, light s|d to 6id, heavy 5d to sfd; ewes 3id to lamb's, twos 9£d to lCd, eights &£d to 9d, fours 74d to 7£d. Seconds Bid to £LI, Australian Sid to 9Jd, Argentine 8d to 9d; ok hinds to sd, fores to 3gd; cow, hinds to 4d, feres 2^d to rid.'" The New Zealand!" Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their Lon-don-house under date November 3: " Tallow: We quote present e.i.f. and e values for the following descriptions of tallow, fine mutton 425, good beef 445, mixed 41s; market quiet.
