A CIVIC CENTRE
AUCKLAND PROPOSALS COMMISSION’S WORK (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. The general lines of report to be presented to the City Council by the Commission which hais been investigating the various schemes submitted in connection with the proposal to establish a civic centre in Auckland have now been settled, but pending the preparation of drawings and certain necessary information the commissioners, have suspened sittings. Sir John Sulman, of Sydney, who has virtually been chairman of the commission, proposes to visit Rotorua and other portions of the North Island, returning to Auckland on October 18, when will meet Mr. S. Hurst-Seager, and Mr. W. E. Bush, the other members of the commission, to finalise the report for presentation to the Mayor.
