A STOLEN RIDE
RUATORIA CAR THEFT SEVEN MEN APPREHENDED On August 28 a service car belonging to the Whitfield Co. was removed from Ruatoria, and was later found in a badlvdamaged condition some distance away from the township. The repairs to the car cost £IOO. Since the occurrence the policy in Gisborne and,, Wairoa have been investigating the matter. and seven men will shortly appear before the Magistrate at Gisborne in connection with the affair. They will be charged with illegally using the car, and the member of the party who was driving will also be charged with negligently driving, and driving without a license.
