SOUTH AERICA ON BRITISH MARKET. LONDON, Thursday. The newspapers are giving attention to a deal between the Chartered Company and a newly-formed company in which Sir David Graaff and Sir Ernest Oppenheimer are interested, for the purpose of developing the export of Rhodesiau beet to the British market. Sir David Graaff, interviewed before sailing, said the company had secured 2,700,1)00 acres of land in Southern Rhodesia, and had stocked it with nearly ti hundred thousand head of cattle. "South Africa." he added, "will bid lor a place in the English market, though it cannot exactly be called a meat" war. Before we con template underselling other .companies it will be necessary to establish ourselves in this country. At present nearly all English meat imports are foreign, and it is time, thai South Africa had a share in supplying the Mother Country."
