This was the ease with Sydney'j James Herbert, a laborer, aged 46, vfhf , appeared before Mr. H. Y. Widdowsor x I 5.M... in the Christchurch Magistrat e ' s Court, eight years after, a warrant ■ W as' issued for liis arrest. Herbert ' was charged witli' failure to maintain his wife.
