v CRUSHED UNDER SLEDGE TIMBER WORKER KILLED (Per Press Association.) INVARCARGILL, last night. A sad accident occurred at Ruapuke Island about 5 p.m. on Friday, which resulted in the death of Fred Topi, a gon of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Topi. The deceased was employed sledging wood to the sawmill and as he did not r show up at 5 p.m. a search was instituted and he was found dead beneath the overturned sledge. KNOCKED OVER BY CAR.
