! TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH. ' 11. LASKEY'S DOUBLE WIN. WON BY A MILE AND A-11ALF. (Per Prfts? Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. last night, i A double success was scored by R. Laskcy (Soulhbrook) in the Timaru to Christchurch road race on Saturday. He won the race from the six-minutes' mark and also made the fastest time. For a groat part of the journey the men rode through drizzling rain, and the roads for the whole journey were muddy. The riders were thickly plastered with mud very early, and at; the journey's end were objects tor pity. So" bad were the conditions that the standard time for which certificates were awarded, was raised from 7} .to S hours. Laskey Avon by about a. mile and a half. The prize for -tbc fastest tune, which may not be taken by the actual winner of the race, goes to H. G. Watson, who finished tenth from scratch. Watson won the race in 1923.
