Operations undertaken by the Harbor Hoard staff aroused some curiosity among the dinner-hour crowd which crossed the Kaiti bridge. The launch was engaged on' the removal of a sunken pontoon, which had been presented to a local aquatic club but had sunk at its moorings, and filled with silt. The obstruction could not be allowed to remain, and though the punt was dragged to a position where it could be freed of the silt, doubt was entertained as to whether it would pay to repair it.
A bright concert entertainment will bo given in the City Hall to-night by Mrs. M. Barry's concert party, comprising the following performers: Misses W. Murphy, M. McDonald, V. Ravenhill, M. Barry, M. Martin, Q. Fanning, E. Dower, K. Arnold, N. Wilson, E. Keany, M. McLoitchlin, L. Dunphy, A. Stillman, If. Pine, R. Hampton, S. Bradfield, M. Keany; Messrs. F. Murphy, A. Murphy, IT. B. Gardiner, and! Masters I). Lee imdi T). Martin. The proceeds of the entertainment will be allocated to the Whataupoko district campaign.
