SOUTH ISLAND EXTENSIONS. NEW CIRCUIT PLANNED. (Per Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, las! night. The Telegraph Department is planning to have a new telephone circuit between Blenheim and Christ church erected by the end of Juno, 1927. When this work is completed it will he possible to give a very much wider range of telephonic communication between the North and South Islands than is possible at present. There is a good : deal of work to bo done on the polo lines between Blenheim and Christchurcli, as new poles have to be erected in many places, spans shortened and "ire circuits arranged. In addition, the copper metallic circuit between Blenheim and Christchurch has to be erected. The number of construction parties who are engaged upon the work will be increased as the material becomes available.
