A QUESTION OF RATES COUNCIL AND POWER BOARD - The disparity between the rate charged for water supplied by the Borough Council to the Power Board, and that charged for water supplied to the borough electrical undertakings in the past, was tlie subject of a protest made to tin* council by the Power Board recently. To-day the reply of the council was received. and its terms indicated that full cognisance had been taken of the board’s reminder that it had not raised the cast of current to the council. The council advised 1 that the water would he supplied to the Power Board in future at the same rate as had been charged; against the 'borough electrical department in the past, for as long as tile charge for electric current remained at the existing IcVel.
Members of the Board received the reading of the proviso with significant “(Mi’s,” and it was decided that the letter lie received.
