COLLISION WITH TRAIN
A NARROW ESCAPE
(Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. There was a narrow escape from a -serious, if not a fatal accident, at St. Aubyn street railway crossing in the centi’o of the town this morning. As the Wellington mail train was coming into tho station a. milk vendor. Joseph Sparks, not noticing tho train, drove his hors« on to the rails, and in swerving to avoid a collision (ho engine struck the animal a glancing blow in passing.. -No one was hurt, but the animal was destroyed.
