POULTRY ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL MEETINC

The annual general meeting of the Poverty Hay Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Association was held last evening, (he president. .Mr. O. V. Church, presiding over a large attendance of bird fanciers.

An explanation, of the balance sheet was given by the president, who moved the adoption of the annual report. Mr. Church remarked (hat the balance sheet showed the finances in a rather false position; this was due (o (ho heavy amount written off for depreciation. The greatly increased expenses in connection with the judges was amply .justified, as the introducing of new judges brought new ideas, and showed exhibitors what was happening in other places. Cash in the bank totalled £7O -Is lid; thus the finances were in a highly satisfactory state. A tribute to the work of the officers during the past year was paid by Mr. Whiliircad, who remarked that it was due to their keenness and unfailing support that the association was in such an excellent financial position. On his motion it vote of thanks to the officers was carried by acclamation.

The annual report stated (hat the 192(5 show proved a. great success from every point id' view. Entries in the poultry classes had increased and (he pigeon classes Intel also increased by 50. Canary classes had declined. During the year 05 members had become financial. Thanks were expressed to I hose who had generously donated special prizes, to Mr. J. K. Nasmith for the use of his shop and window displays, to Mr. M. R. Pry for auditing accounts, and to Mr. G, Whithrcad and other fanciers for cups, Three cups were promised for the coming year's show in the poultry classes. ' Mr. W. H. McKoimc, of Welling!on, had also promised one tor the pigeon classes. The' election of officers for the ensuing venr resulted: Patron, Mr. K. .1. Poswil'lo; president, Mr. T. Crosby; vice-presidents, all re-elected with the addition of Dr. Singer, Messrs. M. .). Kyne. .1. Carmody, J. A. Cotton, D. Clements, Murphy; secretary. Mr. «T. Hartley; treasurer, Mr. S. Leech: assistant secretary. Mr. E. Lund; committee, Messrs. Scott, Kippenberger. Church, Hadwen, I'earce, .lames, Lawsou, Wallace. Pirie, f'ogden. Hickman and Jackson; auditor, Mr. M. H. Fry. It was unanimously agreed that investigations should be made into the mnlter ol incorporating the association.

Votes of thanks to the chairman, the outgoing officers, and the press concluded the meeting.
