MRS ALEXANDER MILNE

The announcement of the death of Mrs. Florence Milne is received with profound regret, not only in Christchurch and Lyttelton, but in Dunedin and the West Toast.
The late Mrs. Milne, who was born in Christcliurch, was a- daughter of the late .Mr. 11. B. Denniston, the wellknown mining engineer, who discovered the rich coalfields in the Duller district, and who opened coal mines on a barrel plateau near Wcstport, where sprang up the township which was called Denniston in bis honor.
After her marriage to Mr. Alexander Milne, who was formerly manager of the Lyttelton .Harbor Board's freezing works.' Mrs. .Milne made her home in Lyttelton. Later she lived in Sumner, and when her husband died a few years ago. she moved to Opawa,
