LONDON WOOL MARKET. SALES (.'LOSE FI JEM. (Elec. Tel. Copyiiglit—United Press Assn.; (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, .June 11. The wool sales closed linn. The latter part of the series was marked by a. good attendance, and growing confidence. Competition by Continental buyers was active throughout. Yorkshire trade buyers also operated more freely during the closing week, but the United States’ demand was conspicuously absent. .Merinos: Creasy closed strong, .sometimes 5 per cent above the April opening price. Seoureds were somewhat erratic with frequent withdrawals, but prices generally were in sellers’ favor. Average to faulty combing sorts showed fully 6 percent advance. Crossbreds, tine, were linn, and medium and lower grades generally about 5 per cent down. Lambs’ wool was m active demand. Merinos showed fully 5 per cent advance and crossbreds par to 5 per cent. New Zealand Mangatoi clip realised 14J,d top price, and lAiul average. BETTER TONE 1 IN’ BRADFORD. LONDON. June 10. The Bradford market bail a slightly belter tone in merinos on account of London’s firmness. • Quotations are unchanged. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. are in receipt of the following cable from their London bouse, dated June 10: “As eohfpared with last sales, closing rates prices are about par to 5 per cent higher for scoured merino medium and merino lambs, lino greasy crossbred, greasy merino and line scoured crossbred; about the same for scoured mfcnno super, line crossbred slipe, about par to 5 pec cent, lower for crossbred lambs, ‘ coarse scoured crossbred, coarse crossbred slipe, medium crossbred slipe. and medium scoured crossbred; about par to 5 per cent higher for scoured merino inferior; about 5 per cent to 7.] per cent lower for course greasy crossbred; about 7 2 per cent to 10 per cent lower for medium greasy crossbred.
