(Per Piess Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. ! Owing to the scanty rainfall the A 1 .in- | gahao power system is affected. The | level of the water in the dam lias been l falling, and a call has now becm made on the Evans' Bay city station ;:nd the Palmerston North station to assist at the heaviest periods.. The big increase of consumption has] brought tho demand on Mangahao np to the capacity of the plant. This will be ! relieved w'iu'.i. thrt third dam is completed. A.Public Works Department official states that there is no occasion for alarm. Assistance will only be required during peak loads.
