Miss Robinson has been appointed to the staff of the Wairoa District High School.
Cr. A. YV, k'irk, chairman of the Waiapu Cow-ty Council, has been appointed the Council's representative on the Ilisrhw.'ivs District Council.
Mr. 11. 11. He Costa, who has bum aitending the meeting of the Advisory Board of the Patriotic Societies of Neu Zenlau'd, at Wellington. rraiirned to Gisborne last evening.
Mr. 0. 0. (ivinerod. president of the Wairoa branch of the N.Z. Farmers' Union has been appointed to represent Wairoa at the forthcoming conference in July or August. Nurse Corbett (hitherto district nurse for the Wairoa county) has now been appointed by the Health Department as native nurse for Nuhaka-Mahia-t poutama area, her western boundary of service Vicing Whakaki. Dr. Teichelmann has been asked tc represent the liokitika Savings Dank at a world's conference at Philadelphia. United States, in Odtober. Dr. Teichelmann will probably undertake the trip, and if he docs, is likely to represent other New Zealand Savings Banks. The Matawai Ladies' Guild nu-1 at the Vicarage to hid farewell to Mrs. .1. B. Clark, one of their popular members, who is leaving the district shortly. During the afternoon competitions tool; place, and several gifts were bent owed upon the departing guest.
Dr. E. P. Neale. who has been selected by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce for the post of secretary rendered vacant by the death of Mr. il. C. Tews ley. will take up his duties about the middle of July. Dr. Neale, who is a native of Dnnedui. and who studied at Gtago University and Victoria College. holds the degrees of M.A., with honors in philosophy, LL.B.. M. Com., with riust-class honors in economics, and D.Sc. He is a Fellow of the lioyal Statistical Society.
