YESTERDAY'S LOCAL GAMES

'Two games in the Indies' division were played, Kin Toa A defeating High School A by three, goals to nil, and the U. 5.0.0. team defeating Allies by 4 goals to nil. The victory of Kia Toa A was hardwon, for the school players put up a determined light, and though they were outplayed in Ihe finer points of hockey, thej were not badly beaten. More success in the circle might he secured by the school players if they would cooperate better; some good chances were lost yesterday because the forwards had no settled polity of attack. The school backs were good. .Miss iSilhani Jjeing prominent on several occasions. Kia. Toa had the. services of many experienced players, but owing to the determined taciiling of their opponents, they gained but little- from their greater knowledge of the game. Miss McDonald was responsible for the Kia Toa goals, and High. School's goal was secured by Miss B. Hopkinson. .Messrs. Henderson and tsmale were the referees.

H. 5.0.0. had ten players on the field-, against the Allies' seven, and they had a, very big ndvantge in being able to field the Misses K. and \\. Hei, in the half-line and the forwards respectively. 'The Allies were rather badly beaten, though they put up a line struggle against, overwhelming odds. .Misses E. Hoi and C. Mead shared the honors for the winners, netting two goals apiece. Messrs. Cassin and Perrin were the referees.
