PURCHASE TRICE £27,000.

The purchase of nearly half .an acre of land lit the corner of Customhouse street and Gladstone road has just been completed by Messrs Win. Pottie and Co., Ltd., and they have now acquired the freehold of the property on which their building stands, and also of Messrs. Williams and Kettle's property. Speaking to a Herald representative today, Mr. T. E. TuneycTif'fe, managing director of Mr. Pettie and Co., said they they had acquired the land from thf estate of tlw late Mr. J. 11. Murphy, tfi* purchase price being £27,000. Messrs Williams and Kettle held a lease of fcheii present property for a further three years, after which his intention was to extend the firm's premises. Some little time ago they had carried out extensive alterations and had in stalled island windows. He hoped l~at later on they would be able to extend their premises and to complete what he claimed would he the largest and best equipped shop in Oisborne. He had a number of plans which lie intended to civrv out when the premises were eventually extended to the corner, and they would then be able to have ample window space. The purchase price. £27,000. coincides with Die Government valuation of the land which has been acquired.
