STRIKING TRIBUTES. LATE MR ANDREW GRAHAM. Several eloquent tributes to the life and work of Die late Mr Andrew Graham were paid yesterday at the churches. , At. St. Andrew’s in the morning, the Rev. .Tames Ait-ken, M.A., made feeling reference to the joss of one of the staunchest members of tho church. The late Mr Andrew Graham had been with them for a great many years, in fact ever since, tho congregation was first formed 53 years ago, and his interest in its welfare had always been genuine and keen. He had ever been ready to assist the work of the church and had held practically every office, including that of session clerk for 30 years. As long as he had been able, iie had never missed a service, and it had been a genuine regreti to him when he had been up able to attend the evening services any longer. His business life had, been marked throughout by a high sense of honor, and' he had at all times enjoyed the confidence of his townsmen. References to the late Mr Graham were also made at the Kaiti Presbyterian Ohurcli and the Mangupapa, Oh arch, by the Rev. A. Jf. Norrie, who said that the British andi Foreign Bible Society had lost a v.ery genuine friend through his death. For . many years, Mr Graham had held the position of treasurer, and had always been ready to assist the society in every way which lay in his power. * THE FUNERAL. The funeral, which took place yesterday afternoon, was attended by a large number of people, who assembled from ail parts of the district to pay a. Inst tribute to one who had been so prominently connected with its life and progress. Included in the followers were many early settlers, business people and country friends. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. James Aitken, the pall-bearers being Messrs J. Graham, G. Graham, R. Graham, R. Dobson, D Todd, and F. Foote.
