P.B.R.C. FINAL EVENT. The final race of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club season was rowed last oven, ingl when T. Sheen's crew secured a victory in (ho final of the Joyce Memorial Fours-series. The competing crews were:—T. Shoc-'i (str.), J. Bacon. W. McLaiiglilan, and L. Brown, and IT. Lindstrom (str.), F. Stiehbury, W. Glover and L. llling\rorth. Tho firM, named crew proved too-heavy for , their, opponents, and .secured an early lead. Lindstrom made deterni.ined;< efforts to even matters, but though be reduced, the .lead at- one stage. 1 his crew couldi not sustain the effort, and was beaten by a. length.
At Xew Plymouth in the Taranaki ..Easter tournament, Leo Quill, oxc amateur champion, defeated G. M. Phong, the Now Plymouth champion, ' in the final of the Taranaki championship, by .°. up njnl 1 to play. 1 * \* * * The Taurang.a Golf Club has now a nine-holo course, the links having '. been laid out by Mr. H. B. Lusk, of , Auckland. The fair-ways ave in good order, and afford a variety of play not--previously available, and -while the dry weather has xetarded the greens, which were re-laid last season, they should soon show an improved condition. The runner-up was Missj O. Kay, of St. Clair Club, Dunedin,! witll a total of .170, and Mrs J. A. Cook, another Dunedin player, was third with 172.
