ABDUCTION ALLEGED.
YOUNG MAN CHARGED. ' (Per Press Association.) , TAIHAPE, this day. Early this morning'the, police arrested Clarence Amos Woods, 21, on a charge of having .abducted a girl aged eleven years and nine months from her home at Winiata on Wednesday night. Woods was seen riding towards Taihape late that night, with the girl behind him, on a horse, and a large swag in front. No trace of the fugitives was found till early this morning, when they were found asleep in the scrub 55 miles from Taihape on the Napier road, having l covered that distance on horseback since Wednesday night. The police covered over hundreds of miles in.the district in the search. Woods is now being brought into Taihape by the police.
