The Hon. O. J. Hawken, Minister of Lands and Commissioner of State Forests, paid a visit to Riverhead, Auckland, to inspect the site chosen for forestry development in that district. In the afternoon lie went on to Pukekohe. He will also visit Maramarua, where there is another proposed forest area, after which he will go on to Rotorua and Taupo, on route to Wellington.
