HINDENBURG’S SALARY.
FAR BEHIND OTHER. PRESIDENTS. BERLIN, Fob. 15. President von lliirdenburg's salary has been raised to £3OOO per annum, will) £6OOO for espouses. There is a further sum of £3750 placed at his disposal, making £12,750 in all. This contrasts with the total sum of less than £3500 paid in his last year ot ollice to the lato President Ebert, against whose “extravagance” the Nationalists- then protested, and whose widow was granted a pension of only £3O a month. Moreover, President von Hindenburg is this year given the handling of a fund of £1.75,000 for making donations to charitable objects, whereas the amount placed at the, disposal of President Ebert was under £IOO,OOO.
The President of France receives a salary which is intended to be the equivalent of £BO,OOO a year, though its pre-sent-day exchange value is less than £20,000. Tjie President of the United States receives £20,000 .a year. The President of the Argentine Republic receives about £20,000, the President of Chili, with practically £IO,OOO a year, is nearly on the same' level as the President of Germany.
