At the Wairoa Chamber of Commerce meeting ; It;herc wore Messrs A. C. St, Paul (president),, Browne, Saba, Ashby, Thomson, Stnn-1 ton, Moore, Lambert and Dr. Hallivright. Apologies were received from Messrs. Grout and Haughton. Correspondence "was read from thcr 'Commissioner of Crown Lands, Napier, regarding the* "dip reserve'' at Morerii as a. tourist camping site, stating that the matter would be gone into on the arrival of an inspector shortly.
It was decided to draw the attention of iho County Council to ,'tjie dangerous state of the Whiiknptiare cutting ((ho sciMie of (lie recent, car acciiloi t), asking that until tho cutting,is widened a protecting fence be erected,' nutl a suitable warning notice exhibited. Mr. E. H. Whitiuore was elected a member.
"Considerable discussion took place respecting the speeding of cars in the borough, but pending the passing of borough by-laws, it was felt that no good would result from moving at present.
