DEPORTATION ISSUES. TRANSPORT WORKERS’ DECISION,. MELBOURNE. Nov. 26. A largcly-atitended meeting of the Transport Union delegates, held to discuss the deportation issues, made it, clear that no action would be taken to involve the Workers in a general strike. A meeting of the Trades and Labor Council discussed the pending deportations and decided to endorse a scheme for holding a series of irritation strikes in as many industries as possible. The debate was heated, one proposal, which was narrowly defeated, being that no action should be taken beyond ensuring that the dependents of the deportees receive monetary assistance. , Special meetings of the Transport Group to-dav will discuss ways and moans of executing the Council’s decision. MELBOURNE, Nov. 27. A conference of unions strongly onposed general or irritation strikes on the deportation issue.
