ASSOCI ATI ON \S A N NDA L MEETING Tho seventh annual meeting of the South African Veterans’ Association, Gisborne brand), was held in the Liberty Hall last evening, when one of the most successful and enthusiastic gatherings in the history of the branch was presided over . by Mr. J. B. Poynler. The annual report, as previously published, with tho balnniee-sheiet,' was unanitnously adopted. A fairly large amount of correspondence was dealt with, in addition to the business arising out of the last Dominion conference) at Wellington. The secretary reported that one member was incapacitated through ill-health contracted on active service, and it- was decided to put his ease before the Minister of Pensions. A letter wins received from the Govornor-Gonoral, regretting that he would not be able to be present that, evening, bat that on his visit to Gisborne, early in the New Year, he hoped to have the opportunity of meeting the members of the Association.
