A PLACE IN THE SUN.
GERMANY WANTS LOST COLONIES, (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) (Received Oct. 27, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 26. The Evening Standard mentions that there are indications that the first substantial act after Germany’s entrance into the League of Nations will be an agitation for the return of her lost colonies. The policy apparently will be a recognition of the fact that' the return of Carman East and South-V est Africa is impossible, and the. agitation is likely to lie concentrated on the return' of the Camerooils. “It. would bo unwise,” remarks the Standard, “to under-estimate lliis new feeling, or rather revival of old feeling, as a source of future friction. Hamburg is now reviving as a shipping centre, but its eyes turn to South America rather than to Africa. Berlin is, however, Chinking' again of a place in the sun.
