A. AND P. SHOW.

The A. and P. Show was continued at tile Park racecourse this afternoon. The catering, arrangements were in the hands of Air C. L. Ferguson. CATTLE. 1 The entries generally in the stud cattle this year were good, and the class of stock high. The entries in the Shorthorn section are a long way ahead of last year, one new breeder being included. The Polled Angus section drew the same number of exhibitors as last year, while in the llcrcfords the entries in the male classes are better than the previous show, but in the female classes they arc not as good. There are three new Hereford breeders exhibiting at this year’s show. PRODUCE. Commenting on the special produce classes, the judge, Mrs ,J. ICivers, remarked that although the number of entries were not large, the quality of the exhibits was high. The bread; plum cake, and small cake classes were especially good, and in Airs Elvers’ opinion would hold their own in any show in New Zealand. Class M2.—Loaf home-made Brown Bread (5 entries): Airs. Melville, said that the course had been too short and that it therefore provided a very difficult test for the dogs. The majority of the dogs had been much too rash, ttiis being partly due to the cold day hut. also to the fact that the sheep were very frOsh. Most of the dogs had been under good command hut the pulling in .some eases was weak. The fastest time was made by J. M. Butler’s Lilico’s Choice who completed the course in 3min. -Hlsees., a time which would seldom he equalled. Tea dogs competed in the event, these including some of the best in Poverty Bay. There were also several Hawke’s Bay dogs competing and two from Opotild, An interesting feature of the ovent was that the second prize went to a man who had never previously competed at a trial. The winning dog, Mr. M. Parkinson’s Bruce, put ii]) an excellent- run, being under very good eomnmnd. He pulled wen hut lost points through faulty driving.
