RACECOURSE TRESPASS.
ALLEGED OFFENCE AT AUCKLAND A young man, Timothy Kcnna, appeared before Mr E. 0. Levvey, S.M., at the Magistrates’ Court this morning to answer a,charge of trespassing on the Avondale race track, Auckland, while a meeting was in progress. .Senior-Sergeant Fitzpatrick explained that the accused had) been arrested on a warrant issued! from Auckland. lie would ask that the men be remanded until November 2,-os lie was at present awaiting furtherWionimunicatiori --from the Auckland police. The accused: “Can I explain?” “Yes, go on,” replied the Magistrate. “Well, sir,” continued the accused, “two years ago I was charged with using a false ticket at an Auckland race meeting. The ticket wasn't false'; it was the one presented) to me at the witidow of tin* ‘tote.’ I was fined for that two months later. When f Was at the Avondale meeting a constable walked up to ino and told me I wasn’t allowed to bo on the course. I wasn’t aware of that, but I walked oft’ just the same, and then the next thing is they come and arrest inn when I get here.” The Magistrate: Well.l’m not dealing with all that now. The accused : I would like to be let out. oh hail. The Senior-Sergeant: He's n fill’d of passage, your Worship, and has no work to go to. The accused : 1 have (lie money foe hail. The Magistrate : Well, if you can produre LIC T wili release you. The accused : Yes, 1 can get it if yon will let me go down to the hank for if. The Magistrate: Very well, a constable will ’accompany you there.
