There was' a sensational sequel to the ITardelot disaster. Five of the eighteen supposed to have been drowned returned. When thirteen bodies had been recovered! a search for the five other bodies, was continued all night long. It was then discovered, that four bad been rescued by the fifth. Marcel Appincourt, a thirteen-vear-old boy, who coolly punched the heads of the rest in order to quieten them. All five becoming panic stricken, they hid in the woods all night long.
