LOUIS WAIN’S DEPLORABLE STATE. Australian and N.Z Cable Associnlion. (Received August 12, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 11. An appeal has been inaugurated to raise one thousand pounds sterling for the famous cat artist, Louis Wain. He commenced to draw in .1880 and lias drawn .150,000 cats. Despite his past prosperity, lie sold the copyright of his pictures and is now a pauper in a lunatic asylum.
