COFFIN OF KING ETHELBERT FOUND.

LONDON, July 11 .-Workmen excavating in the. Lady Chapel at Sherborne Abbey, Dorset, which is being restored, have discovered a, coffin which is believed to he that, of King Ethelbert, who was buried in 866. The coffin is of stone, and contains human bones. In 1858 the coffin of King Ethel bald was found during restoration work at tiip, Abbey. These two West Saxon king;; were brothers of Alfred the Great w ho was educated at Sherborne, and sons Of Ethehvulf, King of the West Saxons. They were buried at Sherborne by Bishop F. ul stun. their kinsman. The Primce of Wales two yeans ago was shown the coffin of King Ethelbnld. and stood on the spot, where both Saxon ;kings were supposed to have been buried.
