SHEARING RATES.
AUSTRALIAN DISPUTE
MELBOURNE, August 10. Mr. Justice Powers has summoned a compulsory conference of the parties to the dispute regarding shearers’ rates and conditions between the Australian Workers’ Union and the , Pastoral is ts’ Association. Representatives of New South Wales, Victoria, West Australia, and Tasmania attended, but. as an agreement could not be reached, the dispute was referred to the Court.
