ISLANDERS’ PRESENTATION

A large gathering of members of the Cabinet, members of Parliament, and others yesterday witnessed the presentation to Sir Maui Pomare,. Minister in charge of Cook Islands, of. a. silver loving crip and gold-mounted coconut, as an expression of the Islanders’ esteem and gratitude and appreciation of what tlie Minister had done lor them. Miniatures of the loving ciip were presented to Lady and Miss Pomare. The function was of a private character, the Prime Minister making the presentation on behalf of the Islanders, whose arikis forwarded a letter expressing the people’s thankfulness to Sir’ Maui Pomare for the many acts of consideration and regard he had shown for their wejfare generally.
