At Eastbourne, England won by 3 matches to 2 against America. Hennessey beat- Wheatley—7—s, 6—2, 4—6, 7—5, and Gilbert beat Casey—-9-7, 9-7, 6-3.
LONDON, June 10.—Thu London Evening News says that Casey, tho American tennis player, is expected to electrify the galleries at Wimbledon. He is left-handed, a. nonsmoker, and has never tasted tea or coffee; but lie smilingly confesses that he is not a strict teetotaller. The Americans, who declare _ that Casey’s service is the fastest in the world, have nicknamed him the “ Californian Comot the Second,” because hu has modelled his-service on McLoughlin, who was the original “C'omot,” and copied Johnston’s back-hand stroke.
