EMPIRE EXHIBITION.
SUBSIDIES TO DOMINIONS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 21. 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 20. It is understood the British Government has undertaken to provide the following subsidies for the Dominions at Wembley in 1925, as a contribution to wards the cost of tho pavilions: Canada £70.000 maximum, Australia £50,000 minimum, New Zealand £25,000 minimum, Soutli Africa £15,000. The subsidy to India has not been determined. Newfoundland estimates it does not require a subsidy. South Africa intimated she did not require a larger sub-' sidy, having already a surplus of £15.000 from 1924. MOTOR INDUSTRY’S BAN. 1 (Reuter’s Telegram.) (Received Jam. 21, 1 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 20. A statement issued by the Motor Society, after being announced at the most represantativu gathering of the industry over bold, unanimously confirms the previous decision regarding exhibiting at Wembley. It denies the assertion that tho attitude; is influenced by foreign interests, and points out.that the British Cycle and Motor-cycle Union adopted the same attitude, while the Motor_ Society laid tho sarnie policy towards British industries, at fairs organised by the Department. of Overseas Trade.
