BANDIT’S REMORSE.

DLATH -RELEASES, CONFESSION. MOBILE (Ala.), Hoc. 31.-Waltyr Wright, aged 30, started a career as a. bandit live years ago. ' On -Novemberr 15 he was robbing a bank in Des' Moines (Iowa), when the watchman interfered, and Wright shot and killed him. Two other men, who were entirely innocent of the crime, were* arrested, and', being convicted of manslaughter, are to-day serving life sentences.

Wright went from one crime to another, but felt so badly that innocent men had been convicted that he wrote a careful account of the facts, so that if hi* had the misfortune to die “with, his boots on” justice might still he done.

tin Christmas Eve Wright robbed, a. bank in New Orleans—one of the boldest crimes on record. To-day a detective killed Wright while trying to arrest him at the railway station here. Thousands of dollars were found in lps money belt, together with the dramatic confession related above.
