ALLEGED THEFT. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Ernest Hawkins, eh&irtnan of tiro Spreydon School Committee, was arrested to-day oil a. charge of theft Involving £2l. It is alleged 1 the money was part of the procecd.s of a bazaar, And luul been entrusted to Hawkins for keeping. When the time came for the money to be paid over,to the Education Board, Hawkins, according to the police report, failed to do so. Hawkins appeared at tliei Magistrate's Court t-his afternoon, and was remanded.
