At the Supreme Court, Maurice Burns Ward was charged with assault on his sister so as to- cause actual bodily harm, also with common assault. Florence Ida Bolton, the woman concerned, said she did not remember the night when she received the injuries to her -head. She remembered going out to post a, letter. The next thing she remembered was being in the hospital. Her brother was very drunk that everting'.' She was now living with him, and had-iio reason to fear him. Medical evidence was thn.t the loss of memory might be due to injuries. 1 The defence was that thd accused was drunk and did not know what he was doing. • • A verdict of riot guilty was returned, and accused was discharged. ... .
