A FEMALE BURGLAR

A female “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” was sentenced to fourteen months’ imprisonment- at the Middlesex sessions. Bertha Cruch, a married woman and devoted mother, and a- respectable shopkeeper by day, committed expert burglaries singlehnrided by night. She was well dressed on her expeditions, wearing a fur coat, evening dress, silk underclothing and rings worth £235. She was finally tapping in a drawing room while engaged in a burglary.
