The Daily Telegraph says that so many of the first-grade University Rugbv team will he kept in Sydney by work that the New Zealand tour stands an excellent chance of being cancelled, as it it useless sending second and lower grade players against rite fiery New Zealand University. Rugby matches will lie played on theOval to-morrow, commencing at 1.15 p.rn. Owing to Ngatnpo being unable, to muster a team no senior match will he played. The -junior and third grade matches set down should attract a good number of Rugby enthusiasts, especially as the selectors will pick the junior representatives to meet- the Hawke’s Bay junior representatives on Saturday, August- 9, on the Oval. Hawke's Bay is sending up a very good team, and the local boys will need to be in the best of condition’ whan they meet." Rugby followers will be pleased to hear that definite dates have, now been arranged with Bay of Plenty, August 16; Hawke’s Bay senior representatives, August 30: and a return match with Wairoa on September 6. The Poverty Bay Rugby Union is inviting the Hawke’s Bay junior representatives to a dance in the City Hall on Saturday night, August, 9, when a-very large attendance is expected.
