PATUTAHI.
Th6re was a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Patutahi Debating Society ori'Tuesday evening, when a paper on “Successful New Zealanders” wap read by Mr. T. A. Nicoll. Mr. W. Picked occupied the chair. 'Yesterday afternoon a football match took place at Patutahi between teams representing Te Arai and Patutahi schools. After a good exhibition of football the latter won by 6 to 3. For the winners tries were scored by Buscke and Tawhiorangl; and Pohatu kicked a penalty goal for Te Arai. At the same time a basket-ball match took place between teams from the same schools, resulting in a win for the Te Arai girls by It 1 to 16. The players were hospitably entertained at afternoon tea by ladies of the district.—(Own correspondent).
