MEN’S GOLF TOURNAMENT.
POVERTY BAY v. HAWKE’S BAY
TO TAKE PLACE TO-MORROW
To-morrow a team of 17 or 18 players fiom the Napier Golf Cmb will play an all-day match against the Poverty Bay Golf Club on the local links, a fonr-bnh match being played in the morning and a two-ball in the afternoon. The visiting team comprises some notable Hawke’s Ray golfers, aiid some sterling golf should be witnessed. Prominent, amongst tin visitors are Mr Kapi Tavehn. the Hawke’s Bay champion, and one of the- longest drivers in the Dominion. His mate!) against Mr. G. M. Dodgshim will he fol lowed with much interest, in view of tin fact that on the two previous occasions these players have met each had a victory. Mr. Dodgslntn winning in the semi filial oiMhe Manawatu championship last year, and Mr. Kapi Tareha- turning the tables on his home links last month. Other matc.hci; that will occasion much interest will be Air. Troutheek against the local 'champion, Air. G. W. Willoek. and Air. Frank Fryer, (he old All Black footballer, and present- champion of the Hastings Golf Club, against- Air. Noel Bull. The local club 'has decided to allow any of the public who so' desire to witness the matches, which should pro duce some sparkling golf. Local players should be ready to start punctually nt 9 a.m. The following is the draw for the two-ball match in the afternoon, flayers ‘pairing’ off in the same order for the four-ball in the morning (the Napier players . being mentioned first in each ease): —Kapi Tareha plays G.
