FISH OR SEA SERPENT.
CIUIIOUS KIND ON UUAf-lf
Among the curious fish washed up on Hie beach, at Coolangatta, Queensland a.s a result of a recent flood in the Tweed river, was a specimen of what appears to be a- sea serpent. The l-eptiile. which was alive when found, was 3ft long. The body was grey, with a wide blue band down the tack. The end of the tail was white and flat, and covered with large black spots. Another ..specimen found in the same Reality was about 1 Sin -long, with the body I^in at its widest point. It was silver-grey, with exceedingly small scales, 'the month was similar to that of a srake, and a bird-like lull of about 6in. ran down to the body, where were located two black eyes. At the end of the tail was a thin, wiry-looking spike,' Local professional fishermen have never seen a. similar specimen. It was in too advanced a state of decomposition to send to the museum.
