EFFORTS TO RE-FI,OAT.
OWNERS ENGAGE CAPTAIN HOOD

Further effort* will shortly he made to re-float- the schooner War Lord, which has been on the beach near Opoutamn for the past- three and a half weeks. The owners have engaged Captain Hood, of Auckland, to direct- salvage operations, and he has gone to Auckland to procure the necessary gear. The work will entail a- considerable amount- of expense, as the vessel will have to be raised on to skids and pulled out to deep water. They may be some difficulty in getting thfl boat off the beach, but those in charge are confident that their efforts will be successful.
Captain Hood was engaged originally by the insurance company, to advise them as to the chances of getting the vessel out to sea again. He reported that- the chances were favorable, and the owners engaged him to take charge of the work.
