catholic: bishop's views. HOPES OF REPUBLICANS. LON DON, June s.—The Most Rev. Dr. Dignani., on the occasion of his consecration as Roman. Catholic Bishop ol Cloulert. County Galway, made some remarks,'which, says the Dublin correspondent of the Times, in the present critical condition of Irish affairs, may he regarded as especially significant. Tho bishop said that in Ireland to-day there was no unity, no peace, and no progress, morally, politically, or economically, and the Irish people were slipping gradually into an ahsymal pit ol contusion and disorder. “As tar as I can see,” he said, “the present position satisfies no one. 1 predict, that the Republican party is certain to he returned to power very soon. Prepare for that day, and do your best to speed its approach.”
