MATAKAOA COUNTY.
ENGINEER TO BE ENGAGED
(Special to the Herald.)
,TE ARAROA, Wednesday
At the monthly meeting of the Matakaoa County Council the chairman pointed out that the Council would require either to appoint an overseer to succeed Mr Harvey,, or an engineer. The matter was then considerably discussed'. It was proposed by tho chairman "that this Council forthwith invites applications for the services of a competent engineer at a salary of £SOO per annum."—Seconded by C'r. Reed, and carried.
