FORGERY CASE
WEDDING BEFORE SENTENCE

At young man, Bertie Holdsworth, is to be married before next Monday for the third time, prior to receiving the sentence of Justice Salmond for bigamy and making a false declaration and forgery. The" circumstances as revealed at the trial to-day were that the accused had had a. previous marriage dissolved, but before the decree was made absolute lie well through the form of marriage with a y.oung woman, and to satisfy the registrar that he was legally free to many, forged the signature'of a. local lawyer to a false statement that the decree, had been made* absolute. Counsel pleaded for leniency, saying thiCfc. if there had been a short delay no offence would have been committed, but His Donor regarded the ea.se seriously. He agreed, however, that, the marriage of,»thu parties woii'id influence his decision, arid sentence w-aa deferred till Monday to enable the parties to get marlied, accused being released on bajl.
